Three

In all the excitement of realising that I'd been playing a set of rules incorrectly I failed to notice that Monday was the third birthday of this blog. Originally set up to be a repository of wisdom for 'Hordes of the Things' it's become a tribute to my inability to focus on pretty much anything for more than a couple of weeks at a time, combined with my love of small games on a budget.

Still, it's fun to track my gaming activities, and I find the archive of past posts a useful source of information for when I pick up projects again. Obviously I love to see things that are posted here being used an built on by other people, and I freely borrow from those posts to improve my own gaming experience. That's really what this blogging lark is all about.

Thanks to you all for bothering to read this stuff on a daily basis, and let's see what the next year brings shall we?

I'm going to be away for a few days, celebrating my wedding anniversary. This means that I shall miss the next Gong Garage Gamers session, so there won't be a report. This is a shame, as they're playing Blucher. However I do have a scheduled post stacked up for you - look out for it.

  1. Hi Kaptain,

Congratulations on both counts - the wedding and the blog! I certainly enjoy reading about your butterfly like adventures in gaming and will look forward to the next three years of the same.

    All the best,

DC (also suffering from a wandering attention span!)

  2. Congrats! It seems as though there were quite a lot of people who started game blogs 3 years ago, myself included :)

  5. Happy blogiversary! I'm the same way regarding focus--my blog was supposed to be about spaceship gaming, and it grew to encompass fantasy, historicals, and roleplaying games. It's your blog, so write what you want!

  7. Great blog, one of my favourites, always full of interesting stuff and keeps me longing to get into HotT as well as other things - Blucher is the current excitement.

Like you I find my blog is a good way to track my wargamming endeavours as well as a way of catching the ephemeral.
