On Saturday evening I set up another game of the cobbled-together 'Twilight of the Sun-King' rules I'd picked up off the 'net. This time I played the classic Grant 'Positional Defence' scenario. It looked lovely, and lasted ... not long. The attacking Swedes had rubbish activation rolls, whilst the Russians rolled great morale. But, as I say, it looked nice, and it played well despite the frustrations, so I'll just leave you with some pictures.
Beautiful pictures, a great looking, and colored, battle!
ReplyDeleteSo you'd recommend Charles S. Grant's 'Scenarios For Wargames'?
ReplyDeleteYes. I've actually had it for years and it's a great source of ideas and pick-up games.
DeleteThat layout kind of reminds me of Fontenoy. Looks great.
ReplyDeleteThe CS Grant scenario is based on Fontenoy.
