Swiss vs Manator

Since I had two armies out that had fought (and defeated) Prester John I decided to do one more game where they fought each other. So it was that a Swiss army attacked the Red Martian city-state of Manator.

Manator got to defend a couple of hills and was content to sit tight. The Swiss went for a steamroller attack.

The first fights were on the hill on the Manatorian right, as their thoat-riders found themselves defending against a relentless advance by the Swiss pikemen.

The uphill advantage failed to prevent a Manatorian retreat, and the Swiss pushed forward.

On the other flank Swiss halberdiers attacked the Manatorian archers, and slowly drove them back.

Fighting now broke out in the centre, and Swiss pikemen met Manator's swordsmen

Fighting all along the line. The halberdiers were now on the attack, but Manator's line held.

Unfortunately Manator's cavalry was not doing as well, and were being slowly whittled away by the Swiss attack. Being pushed onto the back-slope of the hill, with the Swiss charging down on them was the last straw.

Soon the only mounted left was the Manatorian general, who was quickly surrounded and destroyed.

The Swiss won a convincing 8g-0 victory, destroying all four Manatorian riders for no loss.
