Well, here we are - one whole year of 'The Stronghold Rebuilt'. I started it with the intent of posting various HOTT lists and articles from the old Stronghold, but as anyone who's followed it over the last year will have seen I didn't really stick to that. Yes, there's been a lot of HOTT here, but it's really just been an insight into my inability to focus on one wargames project for any length of time.
One thing that doing my own blog got me onto was reading other people's blogs, and that's been the real benefit. Yes, it's fun to document my own games, projects and ideas for other people's entertainment, but the inspiration I have had from other people's blogs has been great. I've dabbled in things that I would never have considered doing a year ago.
A few stats:
Total Views: 79, 711 (as I write this)
Total Posts: 215, including this one.
Followers: 81
Commonest tags: Report, HOTT (obviously), Gong Garage Gamers, Painting, ACW
These are the five most viewed posts:
Munera Sine Mission - Version 2.0 - The link to the latest version of my gladiator rules.
'Ramayana' in 'Hordes of the Things' - Not sure why this is so popular; must be a Google thing.
Warriors of Barsoom - Some more HOTT lists and a bit of an army showcase.
Beyond The Iron Sky - Space Nazis! Always popular.
The Battle of Galveston - Scenario and Setup - This one was whored on The Miniature Page, and seemed to prove popular with Texans :)
My first post was just an introduction. The first post I made with any real material to it was a look at some of my WW1 aircraft on the painting table. So here they are again, midway through my rebasing exercise:
And here's my current painting - Mantic Elves (for our Gong Con participation game) and some more Mantic Dwarves:
Here's to the next year.
Congrats on the one-year milestone! I'm enjoying your posts, HOTT and non-HOTT. The great thing about having a blog is you can write about whatever you feel like. Looking forward to see what the next year of blogging brings.
