All Your Bases Are Belong To Us

As much as I like my 1/600th WW1 planes, I was never satisfied with any of my basing options. So a few weeks ago I ordered some perspex bases from Litko, reasoning that clear perspex allows me to run the planes on any kind of mat or cloth without having to worry about the bases matching.

They arrived last week, and today was my first chance to attach some planes to them. I have to say that I'm very pleased with how the planes look, although I'm still considering the best way to put ID numbers on the bases.

Here are some pictures.

My scratchbuilt DH2s take to the air at last:

I only have 40 more planes to rebase ...

  1. Great looking bases, and extraordinary scratchbuilds. Bravo!

  2. Great bases. I'll try the same for my ww2 russians
