So where do I stand? Well, I get to be smug this month. I have completed not only enough games to cover May, but also the whole of June and even part of July. This is mostly down to a DBA binge at the start of the month, and I'm going to make my games involving my Arab army against first Parthians and secondly Romans my Pick of the Month.
I also only have one game - Machinas - where I haven't managed at least one session so far this year.
What have other people been up to? Three people have now played each of their six games at least once. And four people other than myself are ahead of the game, having managed more than 15 games. Here are some of my favourite posts from the month.
I'm going to start with Ski's Dystopian Wars game. The rules have never excited me much, but I love the models, so it's always good to see some in action. I have some of the ships, waiting to be painted up for use with Galleys and Galleons.
Ral Partha's Chaos Wars is not a game with which I'm familiar, but looks good in ChicagoWiz's report.
And, finally, continuing the fantasy theme, during May I played Dragon Rampant for the first time, so I was especially interested in these reports of the game from Phil Saunders (who, yes, is my brother).
Here's the current list of participants and games played, as far as I can determin. I admit it may be incomplete; we've had internet access issues at home for the past couple of weeks, so I havn't been able to trawl the participating blogs as often or as thoroughly as I would have liked to. I may have missed things. Items in red show games which have been completed.

Thanks for keeping track of the games. Everyone's AARs have made for some great reading. I did get in a game of Saga that I don't think was recorded.
ReplyDeletehttp://laststandatcairngorm.blogspot.com.au/2017/03/saga-death-of-warlord.html
There were 2 games close together. Thanks.
Thanks. I've added it into the master list and my Secret Spreadsheet :)
DeleteI've changed my line-up of games again Alan, and played more Seven Years War games so I'm at the requisite 15 games. https://natholeonsempires.blogspot.co.nz/p/inspired-by-comment-from-shaun-also.html has the revised list. An impressive array of games everyone has been playing!
ReplyDeleteI have adjusted your list as far as I can in the main Runners and Riders post, to cover the SYW games, which I'd read but failed to realise were 6x6 entries. I'm not sure what's happening with your Game 5, so will wait for clarification. You have one entry in it already, but seem to have dropped it in the summary on your post above.
DeleteChanged it to Commands and Colors, so drop out the recorded game - as per the rules. It will give me more reason to get into C & C Napoleonics when my copy arrives!
DeleteI actually played 3 games in May of what is a small 6 game campaign. But I have not posted the AARs yet. It is not one from my 6x6 list but will be when I have finished the 6 games :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I am still halfway through two other games for the 6x6 challenge.
As the saying goes "it never happened unless you posted and AAR", but I have hopes to be on back track within the next few months.
Yes, thanks for keeping track of our progress. And so diligently too!
ReplyDeleteKK, this has been fun to watch the progression of you and the other participants. As you say, some of the participants have been killing it. If you tackle this again, I may just join in!
ReplyDeleteAfter getting ahead of the game count in April, May ended up being much quieter. I did manage a game of Squad Leader which will count for June.
ReplyDeleteI think I might yet change one of my game choices. The Andy Copestake article in Miniature Wargames about the uses of old or "classic" wargames rules has got me thinking about digging out Wesencraft's "Practical Wargaming" and see how these old time rules play - I will see how the next few games go.
And thank you again for keeping tabs on the games!
