Written Rules

In a comment on my previous post it was suggested that I write down the rules I was tinkering with in that particular game. Some of them were written down. I hereby present to you the written rules as they currently stand:

I think I'll need to get them tidied up a bit.

Update: It's all safely stored in a Google doc now!

  1. Yeah, great minds think alike. I have the same thing written in about 10 places.

  2. LOL I have so many half written rules covered in illegible scribble I can't keep track of them. A shame, as I think there are some good ideas in there. If only I could find them....

    1. I actually dump my idea in various documents on Google Drive. I have loads there, with ideas and variants for all kinds of games. But at least they don't get lost :)

The contents of that piece of paper will be written up in a document later.

  4. I suffer from the paper blizzard too - not so much with rule sets, though. I have written a few up as WORD documents - with attached pictures, withal - so that they look (more or less) like published rule sets when printed.

No; my problem is with setting up scenarios, with OOBs and so forth, and with copying battlemaps and such. My wimmingfolk have off and on given me really nice exercise books and journals to write stuff up in, but, because I want to do them justice, they don't get used! I have folders full of stuff, dating decades back.

I really have to do something about that. Except maybe turning this comment into a blog posting some time!
    Cheers,
    Ion

    1. I'm terrible for not writing up scenarios. I've often set up replays of scenarios from a few years previous using the blog posts I wrote about them previously, using the photos to reconstruct maps and sometimes the order of battle :)

    2. I'm the opposite. I write up scenarios that don't get played. My recent Hak-al-Amara game has been in the pipeline for months already, with several copies of OOBs with amended SP values. A Quatre Bras game shared the same long wait, with a hex battle map that I can't now seem to find...
