Six by Six - Runners and Riders

In this post I will try and track all of the people, including me, who have said that they will be attempting the Six by Six Challenge in 2017. Since I didn't really expect anyone but me to actually take part, I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to do it, but as with anything in wargaming, any plan is better than no plan.

If you are taking part and I have missed you from this list, then let me know and I will add you.

  1. Interesting lack of duplication on these lists. I see Black Powder and OHW a couple times but there sure is a wide variety out there!

    1. I'm looking forward to seeing how it all pans out :)

  2. As for keeping abreast of what is going on in the Challenge (or not as the case might be) perhaps all the participants can make a monthly blog post to summarise what may have happened and what might happen next. And I would not be surprised if everyone starts following everyone else to see what might be happening. Everyone seems to have some interesting ideas that are worth seeing how they turn out.

    1. Yes, I think a monthly post is probably the best bet at this stage.

  3. My first thought was a monthly post with us all tracking how we are going. My immediate second thought is you setup a separate 6x6 challenge blog where all of us participating have permission to post. That way we can post links in that blog when we post something, could have a blog page where we track how we are going. You and us can then post monthly or milestone updates to our own blogs. It does have the downside of being another blog, but the upside that it will be easy to track, a lasting legacy of the challenge. We will all be posting the AARs on our own blogs anyway.

    1. I'm loathe to set up another blog. I'll probably just update this post with links to any reports I come across - I'll be following each of the blogs, looking for updates anyway. Maybe do a monthly summary post as well. I'd prefer to keep things simple at this stage :)

    2. No probs. I will label all my blog posts and provide updates either monthly or when it makes sense.

  4. A late entry for the 6 by 6:
    1) One Hour Wargames (OHW) SciFi Variant
    2) Galleys and Galleons (Ganesha Games)
    3) Hundred Years War - Lion Rampant (Osprey)
    4) Dark Ages with Dux Bellorum (Osprey)
    5) WW2 Naval (Pz8 rules)
    6) WW1 OHW
    Great idea and challenge.

  6. I'm excited to see all these games played by everyone. I'm surprised that there isn't more overlap of games, but in a good way.

    Thanks for the challenge, Kaptain.

  11. I've just posted my six rulesets on my blog. http://laststandatcairngorm.blogspot.com/

This week the first game was played. This challenge is a great idea! Between this and The Pledge it should be a productive year of gaming.
