Blowing My Own Trumpet

I finally got my author's copy of 'The Portable Pike & Shot Wargame' today.  Now I don't need to keep printing off copies of my ECW rules from Google Drive.

    1. I got a PDF to proof-read, so I have skimmed all of the bits by other people, but I'm looking forward to actually reading them properly now that I can do it with a paper, rather than electronic, copy.

  4. I was very pleased to have a hard copy of your excellent ECW rules, as I've always enjoyed your campaign and battle reports, but have to fight the constant temptation to buy some ECW armies of my own! I'm also happy to have some of my own work in a proper book at last, instead of magazines.

  5. I’m glad that it has finally arrived!

I was very pleased with the way it turned out, and look forward to producing further books in the not too distant future.

    All the best,

    Bob

  6. Excellent book. Alan, your rules are very good, make sense and are easy to use [what more could a gamer want!]. Arthur's Siege rule are very original and work well for this period of history - I also like his idea of using Flags to record SPs. I am developing the 'Snakes and Ladders' concept for a 1642 campaign with a twist. London will be the prize at the end with the battles being Edgehill, Brentford etc. Probably at Brigade level, we shall see. All the best. Paul.
