The trick will be to add some Epic 40K 'chrome', but I'm not sure I need to so much of that. We'll see how I get on with more exotic armies.

I've played a few more small games with the same armies and the same activation system, and I am finding it's working for me. To be honest I'm more concerned with finding a way of using the Sudden Death rule, but taking into account the SP resilience of units. I have an idea, but it involves an extra die roll per combat. Still, in a solo game no-one's going to mind about that much.

Thanks for the books, though; they are keeping my mind active during this difficult post-Christmas/pre- New Year food-coma time :-DKaptain Koboldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17082772546044655044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2570039711549278262.post-78215363993608229722017-12-28T21:30:07.385+11:002017-12-28T21:30:07.385+11:00It was interesting to read your battle reports, es...It was interesting to read your battle reports, especially as I never envisaged the rules being used for anything like 40K Epic battles. I'm also pleased that you found it easy to adapt them to suit your needs; that us exactly what I hoped that players would do.

I look forward to seeing your next battle report ... and suggest that you use the card-activation system next time as I think that it will meet your requirements.

All the best,

BobRobert (Bob) Corderyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13109130990434792266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2570039711549278262.post-32162005998057521032017-12-28T11:20:55.627+11:002017-12-28T11:20:55.627+11:00I felt for this style of game the individual activ...I felt for this style of game the individual activation wasn't too bad. I might try the card system for games where armies are more coordinated - I was thinking of trying the ancients rules, or adapting them for pike & shot maybe. I like the card system. Both sides would have got the red and black 3-4-5 cards. Rather than a mixed deck, I have preferred separate decks and draw alternately. The reason for this is that two attempts 'per book' had one side getting strings of 5 or 6 'goes' without the enemy able to do anything in response. The end result was as one might expect.Archduke Piccolohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15533325665451889661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2570039711549278262.post-30147940845174167262017-12-28T06:53:28.727+11:002017-12-28T06:53:28.727+11:00Very interesting indeed Kaptain!
