I did a few units of light infantry for my Russians and Swedes. For strict Great Northern War games these are not needed as light infantry weren't really a thing then. But sometimes it's nice to just use the armies for generic 18th century games using One Hour Wargames or the various Grant scenarios, and they often need light infantry.
There's little difference between these figures and the line infantry. I just clipped off the bayonets. And, obviously, there's fewer figures per base.
Very nice. I've settled on 3 figures for light infantry as well.
ReplyDeleteI do two bases of three and one of two for a total of 8 figures.
DeleteUseful addition - Quite productive on the painting front recently, Kaptain ππΌππΌππΌ. Is there a particular reason you aimed for eight figures to a unit?
ReplyDeleteSix figures looked a bit sparse, and nine looked too many. Also eight id 2/3rds or the 12 I use for line units, so it just felt right :)
DeleteI originally did the light cavalry as 4 figures (1-2-1) so that was 2/3rd of a heavy cavalry unit, but four figures looked too sparse so I added a fifth and went 2-2-1.
