We have enjoyed playing the Rebels & Patriots system so I was curious how you would rate DR. DR is about skirmishes between warbands of under 100 individuals.

HOTT has a richer and more interesting set of interactions between troops. DR has some interesting types and abilities, but doesn't feel as varied.

HOT is great for set-piece battles, but DR really shines for scenarios.

HOTT can feel very sterile. DR's activation system, quests, leader abilities and (see above) suitability for scenarios gives a each game a lot of character and narrative.

So, to conclude. Both games.

Kaptain Koboldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17082772546044655044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2570039711549278262.post-16356363294949061652019-07-12T11:52:21.335+10:002019-07-12T11:52:21.335+10:00Was looking for a comparison as both seem to fill ...Was looking for a comparison as both seem to fill the same niche. Designed it in a boring meeting at work, and built it when I got home. It's had a few repaints over the years to improve its look :)Kaptain Koboldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17082772546044655044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2570039711549278262.post-36800118907997408872019-07-12T09:52:25.361+10:002019-07-12T09:52:25.361+10:00That game was Dragon Rampant. That game was Dragon Rampant.Kaptain Koboldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17082772546044655044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2570039711549278262.post-1885767620376481562019-07-12T05:43:43.086+10:002019-07-12T05:43:43.086+10:00I like the steam tank - was it a scratch-build?I like the steam tank - was it a scratch-build?Maudlin Jack Tarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02812453753286494021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2570039711549278262.post-16429714687794770302019-07-12T02:19:49.006+10:002019-07-12T02:19:49.006+10:00I have to ask you, oh great Stronghold, HotT or D...I have to ask you, oh great Stronghold, HotT or Dragon Rampant ??
